Switch Your Home Style from Winter to Spring

Switch Your Home Style from Winter to Spring

Seasons provide an opportunity for people to change up, enhance, and revamp their home style. And with spring just around the corner, most homeowners are looking forward to change their house mood from cold and dark to warm and colorful. This is why when switching their home style from a winter style to a spring style, homeowners like to create an environment that lets them feel a renewed sense of energy, by shedding the winter themes and replacing them with cheerful themed décor, all while making use of the season’s sun, colorful blossoming flowers, and fresh air.

Here are a few tips to prepare your home for spring:

1. Bring nature in:

Nothing can be more refreshing than a house with fresh, warm air. Because winter forces us to stay locked up inside a closed area with the only air coming from our air conditioners, the best way to invite spring into our home is by opening up the windows. On the other hand, indoor plants can make a huge difference inside your house. Their glorious colors, unusual and bright shades, and even their forms and shapes, can set the tone for your room and clean up the indoor air. They can also complement the furniture pieces and bring natural beauty into your home. For example, Anthurium, also known as Flamingo Flower, has red-colored and heart-shaped leaves which can add a vibrant touch and brighten up the room. On the other hand, Peace Lily is a very popular statement plant that can also brighten up a low-light room with its white blooms and green, shiny leaves. Other go-to flowers also include orchids, snake plants, and spider plants among many others.

2. Play around with colors and textures:

Spring is considered a season of renewal and rejuvenation. So why not try to make our home mimic that rejuvenation? We can start by swapping all dark colors that we find suitable for a season like winter for brighter colors, like pastels and neon colors. Yellow, for example, can bring in this spring feeling to the space, conveying the phenomenon of rebirth and freshness we feel in spring and summer. Another popular choice would be pops of orange and pink colors, which are getting great recognition this spring, with designers choosing patterned pillows and artworks in these colors to brighten up the space. Emerald green has also been gaining popularity among designers, as it creates a nature-inspired and earthy look, especially if you choose to use it in order to create an accent wall. On the other hand, because this spring is all about adding interest and creating great depth, you can also incorporate some texture inside your home. For example, you can add wicker furniture on your patio or outdoor space. Wicker furniture can also be used inside your living room, along with a few pillows and textured lamps and throws. You can also choose to change up your walls by adding grasscloth wallpapers for an elegant touch.

3. Opt for lighter fabrics:

Heavy fabrics can feel cozy and can provide a certain amount of warmth in cold weather. However, they are definitely not made for spring. As such, replacing them with lighter fabrics is one of the easiest ways to get ready for spring. Silk and satin, for example, are very nice springtime fabrics that create a light look in your room. Cotton is also another light fabric that gives the room soft and cool vibes. To make the room look cheerful, you can choose vibrant colors, such as red, pink, yellow, and even blue hues. On the other hand, you can also create a nice, elegant, and vibrant look by layering colors, such as whites and pinks, to add interest while still keeping the neutral aspect in your room.

4. Style your coffee table:

Coffee tables are very important pieces of furniture because they create great impact in the room. This is why it is important to style your coffee table in a way that evokes feelings of freshness and spring. You do not want to overcrowd your table. It is better to create a simple look with minimal accessories so as to create a balanced styling arrangement that is easy on the eyes and relaxing. For example, a simple indoor plant or flowers can bring life to the room, providing a fresh and clean environment inside your house. Colorful accents can also bring a cheerful and bright feeling to the room. For example, you can add various accessories that go well with your plant, such as a couple of stacked books over a tray with a bowl filled with simple and small objects.

5. Set up your outdoor space:

As soon as warm weather approaches, we start spending more of our time outdoors, which is why it is important to create an inviting and suitable outdoor space. You can start by adding in new outdoor furniture made from weather-resistant materials to withstand the UV rays. Adding planters can also add dimension to the outdoor space, especially since the plants can create simplicity while being vibrant and rich in color. On the other hand, you can also upgrade your outdoor accessories, such as your outdoor lights, cushions, and even umbrellas.

Make the Best out of Nature

Spring is the season of life and new beginnings. It is the season during which flowers bloom and animals come out of hiding. It is the perfect season to make the best out of nature and style your home with vibrant, lively colors that convey the feeling of spring and freshness. Whether you choose to spend your spring days indoors or outdoors, always make sure to bring nature closer to you. Adding flowers and earthy but vibrant colors, and setting up your patio or garden might be the best way to connect with nature again and watch as the elements grow and blend naturally together.
